EECA
The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is a government agency focusing on clean and clever energy use.
EECA’s work includes services for individual households:
• The Warmer Kiwi Homes Fund – grants of up to 90% of the cost of ceiling and underfloor insulation, and up to 80% of the cost of an energy-efficient heater – for eligible homewoners.
• Solar power calculator – to work out the estimated financial return of solar energy for your house.
• Efficient applicance calculator.
• Carbon footprint calculator.
• Heathy home check – online Homefit tool, covering insulation, ventilation, efficiency of heating and other systems:
• Advice on how to improve energy efficiency and keep energy costs low, including tackling dampness and ventilation.
The Wellington Regional Healthy Housing Group (WRHHG) is a network of industry bodies, community-based organisations, councils, health organisations, and government agencies working to reduce housing and housing-related health inequities through collaboration, sharing information and ideas, and cross-sectoral leadership.
The Vision for WRHHG is: Healthy safe homes for the wellbing of everyone in the Wellington region.
